Possibly the best base jumping / wingsuit video ever!

This is the most incredible wingsuit / base jumping video I have ever seen. Much of the footage is from helecopter jumps in the alps. These daredevils come withing FEET of the mountainsides without opening their parachutes.

For this leap year, people all over the world performed daring parachute jump stunts. Not all were successful. One Arizona man was nearly killed when his base jump went horribly wrong, leaving him hundreds of feet in the air stranded on the side of a mountain.

Chopper skydive swiss alps

Skydive in Switzerland right in the Alps over Lauterbrunnen. Crazy jump over Jungfrau mountain. Jumped out of a helicopter at 15000 ft. for a 55 second free fall. My first time skydiving in the most unbelievable and insane place to do a jump out of a chopper. For me this was huge and extreme had such an amazing time. Sorry for the songs, the guys who shot the vid would not let me choose my own tracks.

Skydiver's near impact and landing on top of a mountain

The purpose of this video is to show the importance of spotting, no matter where you jump but in particular in the mountains. The group was the 2nd to exit, the drop was at the wrong place (not a pilot error though) and nobody noticed until it was almost too late. It was pure coincidence and only the quick reaction by the skydivers involved prevented injuries or worse. I uploaded this video in order to allow anyone interested to learn from it and to help other people to prevent making the same mistakes. Some of you might say: "of course, I always spot anyway" but in fact, a lot of people don't, especially if they're not the first (group) exiting. Always spot!!! It doesn't cost you anything, certainly not your life! Blue skies NPS: 1. we know what went wrong so there's no need to remind us :-) 2. Audibles as well as AADs don't help in a situation like this as they are set to the pressure level of the landing area more than 4.000 ft lower. 3. Deploying the reserve would have been the right choice. And surviving. It is true and it can be done - it was right above a mountain lake in Kenya at 9970 feet AMSL though. Right before this, we took the ridiculously powerful turbine-engined Eurocopter AS350 B3 up to 17000 feet without oxygen to fly right to the top of the mountain, before coming down to 10000 feet for some high altitude lake fishing - still at that altitude you can't put one foot in front of the other without your heart bouncing out of your chest. Every year the members of two paragliding clubs meet in Lasserg, wo very nice place in Germany, near the river mosel, famous for it's castles and good wine. The flying conditions were very good and some reaches a height of over 1000 Meters. Everything was fine, than a tandem got contact with a glider, the glider-pilot went down with his parachute. Good luck, nothing happened to him, but the parachute opened very slow.
