Animal Bikes and Chess Move Cartel present: Live from the Streets. Live from the Streets is a video series created by beatmaker Mr. Green and director Sam Lipman-Stern. A full Live from the Streets album is in the works. In the fourth episode of Live from the Streets, we take you back down to Gigi's Bar and Grille in Old City, this time to meet up with Vinnie Paz. Vinnie has been busy promoting for the new Jedi Mind Tricks record "Violence Begets Violence" but he took the time to give us a quick "one two, one two" and a nice shout out . After that, we introduce John and Agnes who together form the Center City Singers. John and Agnes have been singing in Suburban Station everyday from 7am-8am since 1992 and are renowned throughout the Philadelphia area for brightening up commuters mornings. Mr. green "live from the streets" shanghai

Animal Bikes and Chess Move Cartel present: "Live from the Streets" "For this episode we wanted to do something completely different so I used a bunch of footage that I shot using two cheap handheld cameras while i was in Shanghai earlier this year. First, I chopped up the sounds I got from a construction site near Taikang Lu . Next, I added some audio I recorded of the Chinese army marching by on Huaihai Lu. After that I put in the sound of a little bird chirping. Then, I put in a short clip of some music I got off of a karaoke bicycle (which is something you can find very often in Shanghai). Next, since it wouldn't be a Mr. Green beat without some hard hitting drums and a baseline, I threw those in there. Finally, I recorded the sound of a pirate who was encouraging me to chug my beer in front of the Shelter (which is probably the dopest venue I've ever performed at) and scratched him into the beat. Animal BIkes and Chess Move Cartel Present 'Live from the Streets' "For this episode we wanted to do something to celebrate Hanukkah so we visited Sam (the director)'s uncle Terry in Camden, NJ. Terry used to be a cantor (a Jewish choir leader) so he knew a lot of good Hanukkah songs. He sung us some stuff then we ate a bunch of latkes and chilled out for a while. Then we headed to NYC and caught up with Soul Kahn at his studio. After Khan gave us a nice drop we headed to SOB's to check out Peter Rosenberg's Hanukkah show. He was crazy busy but was cool enough to give us a few words of support on and off the camera. It's always nice to know that the dudes at the top recognize and appreciate what's going on in the underground. Finally, we headed home to Philly to see the annual Car Menorah parade which is always a good time. Animal Bikes and Chess Move Cartel Present: Live from the Streets. "In the fifth episode, we headed over to the Trocadero theater in Philly to meet up with Immortal Technique. He was on tour to promote his new album "The Martyr" and was under the weather but took the time to record some vocals for us to use as a scratch hook. Even though he was exhausted he was cool enough to give us a shout out and some words of encouragement. Then we went to Occupy Philadelphia at City Hall to meet up with an amazing woman named Sherry Somach. She talked to us a while about protesting back in the days of the Vietnam war vs. today and played us her original song "99 Percent". Next we headed up to New York City to film on Wall St. where the entire occupy movement began. Finally, since the protest has spread to over 200 different cities nationwide, we gather some clips filmed in other parts of the country. Mr. green "live from the streets" christmas special with saw lady and whistling santa

Animal Bikes and Chess Move Cartel present: The "Live from the Streets" Christmas Special. "We never really planned on making this episode but there was so much dope Christmas music out on the streets that we just had to do it. What happened was we went to NYC to get some final shots for the Jedi Mind Tricks "Design in Malice" video (which is on youtube NOW) and while we where there we can across a couple street musicians that were just too good to pass up. The first was George, a street performer/New York native who knows how to whistle like it's the flute. He was a nice dude and was happy to tell us his story then play a few songs. After that we bumped into Saw Lady who had the coolest sounding instrument of anything we've come across so far in 'Live from the Streets'. She was also the only famous street musician we've seen. She's made several national TV appearances and has done music for feature films. You can read more about her on her website sawlady.com or just head over to the Union Square subway station where she plays almost everyday. She had been playing all day long but was still cool enough to play us her version of Silent Night and to do a quick interview. Shout out to Saw Lady, I want to do more work with her in the future. Another thing that I realized while working on these Hanukkah and Christmas episodes is that holiday music is really dope to sample. Next year I wanna to do an album called "Hanukkah Beats" and another album called "Christmas Beats ...

Cabaret Redlight is a Philly based theater group that performs vaudeville, burlesque, spoken word and puppet theater, set to original music by the band The Blazing Cherries. Peter was playing his accordion on the street while promoting for his show "The Man from Orphan Island" (which unfortunately is no longer running) and was cool enough to agree to be a part of Live from the Streets. "This is the special episode we premiered at the Apple Store on West 14th Street in Manhattan NY on March 21'st 2012. Instead of using all the equipment we are used to (beat machine, keyboard, video camera etc.), we put this one together using the most basic stuff we had. Sam filmed all the video using an IPHONE camera and then edited all the footage together in IMOVIE. I made the entire beat using GARAGEBAND sounds, IPHONE footage, and a couple of my signature drum sounds.
